How do I choose the material right for me and my garden?
How do I choose the material right for me and my garden?
With such a diverse range of paving slabs, it can be tricky to work out which type of paving is best suited to your garden. Here are a few pointers, below, to consider when weighing up your options.
Natural stone paving
Natural stone pavers can vary wildly in colour and appearance, depending on what type of material you choose. Sandstone paving, for example, offers a wide range of colour profiles and tonal variations, instantly adding character to your outdoor space. On the other hand, limestone and granite pavers offer a darker aesthetic, suited to both modern motifs and country cottage styles.
Concrete paving
Concrete paving was originally developed to replicate natural stone due to its scarcity and prohibitive cost. However, as natural stone has become more widely available, more versatile styles have been built from concrete with some contemporary uniform products being developed, such as Panache Ground Paving and Aged Riven Paving.
Porcelain paving
The most modern option, porcelain paving is manufactured using high temperatures, which makes products more durable and easier to maintain. The style of porcelain products vary considerably, too. Those looking for a more traditional aesthetic can opt for the rustic Vetusto Porcelain Paving, whereas staunch modernists will prefer the sleekness of Manzano Porcelain Paving.
